Adventurous Activities and Sports

Arrows Archery

Picture
Arrows has been created for primary schools to introduce the very youngest of children to archery in a fun and safe way.
Using child-friendly equipment we have produced eight different activities introducing archery concepts and skills through fun activities rather than technical instruction. The activities enable you to use arrows archery as a way of encouraging learning in other areas; for example, maths through scoring, literacy through language, and citizenship though cooperation and self-discipline.

Traditional Archery

Picture
Archery is a fun, educational and a non-traditional activity for all young people to take part in.
Archery is a sport for all. It helps to build muscle endurance and flexibility, developing hand eye coordination and body strength. Archery teaches discipline, respect and self-control - something that carries over into pupils' attitude, work habits and other school activities. Archery can also give the pupil a strong sense of personal achievement. Girls and boys of all abilities can participate.

Popinjay Archery

Picture
Archery is a fun, educational and a non-traditional activity for all young people to take part in.
Another ancient form of archery, the object of popinjay is to knock artificial birds off their perches. The archer stands near the base of the mast and shoots 'blunt' arrows upwards at the targets. This is direct descendent of the practice used by longbow men on ships in port in order to maintain their skill.

Archery Golf

Picture
Archery is a fun, educational and a non-traditional activity for all young people to take part in.
It is often played on a course of 9 or 18 holes. Archery Golf is a sport in which players shoot an arrow at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf.

Players complete a hole by shooting a arrow from a tee area towards a target, shooting again from the landing position of the arrow until the target is reached. Usually, the number of shoots a player uses to reach each target are tallied (often in relation to par), and players seek to complete each hole, and the course, in the lowest number of total shots.

Sport Slingshot

Picture
Sport Slingshot is a fun, educational and a non-traditional activity for all young people to take part in.
Real slingshots shooting real projectiles are used so the activity takes place on appropriately-designed ranges and safety is of prime importance. This focus on safety makes target shooting amongst the safest of all sports and shooting develops in its participants a strong safety culture with a self-disciplined approach to the handling of hazardous objects.

Sport and Pistol Crossbow

Picture
Crossbows are highly accurate and advanced pieces of equipment. While they bear a resemblance to bows and arrows, the technique and result are more akin to air rifles.
First introduced into England by the Normans in 1066, crossbows require full concentration and precise judgment; however, crossbow shooting is suitable for complete novices. Unlike other shooting experiences you don't have the noise of an explosion, just the terrifying and deadly swoosh sound from a bolt splitting the air.

Sport crossbow is a unique combination, requiring the skills of archery, and rifle shooting. It is a fantastic team building activity for enhancing communication and listening skills. We use the latest crossbows; fitted with either a traditional “open” style sight, or a modern telescopic sight.
Picture
We can also provide 'Sureshot' Crossbows for the youngest of children.
The Petron Crossbow is the ultimate target crossbow for young shooters. It looks and feels like a real Crossbow, but shoots super safe sucker bolts, ideal for the younger shooters but quite at home with all generations and equally suited for shooting indoors and outdoors.

Tomahawk Throwing

Picture
Using specially designed tomahawks or mini hawks let children develop a new skill and improve their self confidence throwing axes at a target.
Axe throwing is a sport that involves throwing either a tomahawk axe or throwing angel at a target aiming for the centre. It is often played in lumberjack competitions and helps build hand eye co-ordination. Let the inner viking come out.
We can also provide 'Mini' axe throwing to introduce the very youngest of children to axe throwing in a fun and safe way. Using specially designed double and single hatchets let children develop a new skill and improve their self confidence throwing mini axes at a target.

Rifle and Pistol Shooting

Picture
Target rifle and pistol shooting is, as its name implies, the sport of shooting at artificial targets as opposed to live quarry. It is an international sport, featured at the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. The game is about marksmanship skill; the ability to repeatedly place shots in as small an area as possible in the centre of the target.
Real guns firing real projectiles are used so the activity takes place on appropriately-designed ranges and safety is of prime importance. This focus on safety makes target shooting amongst the safest of all sports and shooting develops in its participants a strong safety culture with a self-disciplined approach to the handling of hazardous objects.

Paintballing

Picture
Picture
Paintball is a competitive team shooting sport in which participants eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with spherical filled capsules called paintballs that break upon impact. Paintballs are usually shot using low-energy weapons called paintball markers that are powered by spring or compressed air and were originally designed for remotely marking trees and cattle.
Real 'markers' firing real projectiles are used so the activity takes place on appropriately-designed ranges and safety is of prime importance. This focus on safety makes paintballing amongst the safest of all sports and shooting develops in its participants a strong safety culture with a self-disciplined approach to the handling of hazardous objects.
